Excuse me, Ms. Dunker? Can you step aside and let me have your life?
I stumbled across this stylist's blog and home tour via Design*Sponge. She lives in Sweden and is a stylist/photographer/artist/designer/illustrator. So right off the bat I was jealous as hell of her.
Then I looked at photos of her home. There were a few rooms in particular that made my jaw drop. The first two are my absolute favorites, but in general I love how her home looks contemporary and stylish yet rustic at the same time.
I am smitten with this wallpaper. If wallpaper wasn't so stinkin' expensive, I'd order it right now. I am going to keep this (or something similar) in mind for our downstairs hallway. I also love the rug. Jack would hate it and say it looks like something you'd find in a run-down cabin, but I think paired with that fabulous wallpaper (not to mention the rest of her fabulous house), it's perfect.
Okay, there's a whole lotta right going on in this photo. First, she nailed the whole clustered-wall-art thing. I think that keeping all of the pieces within the same color palette was smart and I'm definitely taking note. Also, I love the throw pillows... they don't scream "look at me!" but add the perfect pop of color to this neutral room.
Lastly the kitchen/dining area. While this isn't totally my style, I still love the combination of the antique plates, the bright red hanging lamp, and rustic table and chairs. The blue walls are a nice touch too. Jack recently pointed out to me that every single room in our house is blue or blueish grey (except the basement). What can I say, I love blue.
