As I ogle beautiful interiors on a daily basis, I'm coming to learn that there are two things I am afraid of when it comes to decorating. First, I'm a nervous nelly about using too
many colors or patterns together in one room. While I LOVE this look, I'm too chicken to invest in this approach out of fear it will just result in a hot mess. Secondly, I don't have enough restraint or confidence to use only neutrals, specifically black. I can honestly say that the only black pieces in our entire house are art frames and our new guest bathroom wallpaper (which FINALLY goes up next week!).
Today I came across a bunch of black and white rooms that are making me rethink my obsession with grey and blue. I love the drama and stark contrast that all of these rooms share. They feel chic and polished and, with the exception of the second photo, not overwhelmingly mod (I'm scared of mod too). I've been toying with painting the ceiling in our master bath a dark color... maybe I'll grow a pair and try black.
